The Melnick Index State of the Economy did not change in March
The March Index reflects
partial effects of the Corona epidemic
Broader effects will be
obtained in the April index
The Melnick State of the Israeli
Economy Index did
not change in March 2020. The March Index reflects only the partial economic
effects of the Corona epidemic. Broader effects will be obtained in the April
index and full effects will be obtained in May.
The March Melnick Index components include:
a 1.7% rise in the industrial production index in February, after a 3.7% rise
in January; a decrease of 1.2% in the revenue of commerce and services in
February, after a decrease of 1.2% in January; a drop of 1.0% in the import
index in March, after a 5.6% drop in February and a 0.1% rise in the number of
employee posts in the business sector in February, after a 1.2% decline in
January.
