The Melnick State of the Economy Index Increased by 0.2% in June

Expension of the business sector seems to be slowing.
Expansion of the industrial sector continues, and a stabilization of private consumption is notable.

The Melnick State of the Economy Index Increased by 0.2% in June. Business sector rate of expansion seems to be slowing down. Among the index's components, the continued expansion of industrial production and the stabilization of commerce and services are notable. The latter reflects on a high level of stabilization of domestic demand - especially of private consumption. The Index of Imports and the number of employee posts in the business sector show substantial fluctuations in both directions.


The components of the June Index include: an increase of 0.6% in the Industrial Production Index in May, after an increase of 1.9% in April; a decrease of 0.6% in the Index of Revenue in Commerce and Services in May, after no change in April; a decrease of 0.3% in the Imports Index June, after an increase of 0.4% in May, and a decrease of 0.8% in the number of employee posts in the business sector in April, after an increase of 0.7% in March.
