The Melnick State of the Israeli Economy Index Increased by 0.4% in January 2010. The business sector continues to grow. The different indicators of the index show that growth is balanced and is not concentrated in a single sector. All of last month's index components increased, after the stabilized level recorded the previous month. The increase in the number of employee posts in the business sector also indicates a rise in employment.

The components of January Index include: an increase of 1.2% in the Industrial Production Index in December, after a decrease of 1.3% in November; an increase of 0.3% Revenue in Commerce and Services in December, after an increase of 0.2% in November; an increase of 3.3% in the Imports Index in January, after a decrease of 0.3% in December, and no change in the number of employee posts in the business sector in November, after an increase of 0.4% in October.
